Hopefully you all have seen the VFP Action Alert that went out on Wednesday. Please check it out if you have not done so already, and continue to take action.
 
Several VFP members and allies have been working hard on an updated toolkit of actions that will be further developed and shared. 
 
If the Israeli Occupation Forces attack the Flotilla again, which is quite possible, we should be prepared to escalate from polite phone calls to Congressional reps to Direct Action in the streets (and in the suites). We are working on Direct Action ideas and will be calling VFP chapters to see what you are up for. 
 
Free Zahid Chaudhry from ICE!
On the homefront: VFP continues to support Zahid Chaudhry, president of the Rachel Corrie VFP Chapter in Olympia, Washington. Zahid was kidnapped by ICE at his Citizenship Hearing on August 21 and remains in ICE custody at the notorious Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma, Washington. 
 
Zahid is disabled and in a wheelchair. He is married with two young children. Zahid's very able wife, Melissa Chaudhry, a former candidate for Congress, is leading the legal and political struggle to keep him from being deported.
