Turkey is a chief rival of Israel in the ongoing carve up of Syria and the coming war to strip apart Lebanon. Turkey wants to have The Bomb. Israel will not allow that. Israel's foreign policy is that its neighbors must be abjectly prostrate.

Israel and Syria are openly negotiating the destruction of Lebanon, with Syria lopping off part of the north of the country and Israel soaking up much of its south. Israel is wasting no time in stealing neighboring lands of countries it has reduced to utter weakness.

Israel Hayom is a Sheldon Adelson-founded newspaper, with a print version distributed for free throughout Israel. It espouses right wing and what passes for centrist coverage and editorials in Israel, reaches at least a quarter of the population and has the largest circulation in the country (like those free junk papers you pick up on the way out of the grocery store).
