MPower Change Action

As salaamu alaykum, Khani Begum—

Every day this genocide continues is unbearable.

That is why I wanted to make you saw this and take a second to act:

We need a U.S. embargo RIGHT NOW on the bombs killing Palestinians.

Every day brings new horrific reports from Gaza.

Every day brings new evidence that this must end now.

But right now, White House officials are saying they might begin to curtail US arms to Israel, in thirty days, if certain conditions are not met. (Details below.)

Palestinians in Gaza cannot wait thirty days.

And neither can we.

Tell the White House: We desperately need an arms embargo on Israel now.

Our last email on this, which includes the news story I’m referring to, is below.

Thank you for taking action.

In solidarity,

Linda, and the MPower Action team

As salaamu alaykum, Khani Begum—

As you may have seen, a letter to Israel from the Secretaries of State and Defense was leaked to reporters.¹

Here’s what it revealed:

Top Biden officials invoked U.S. laws threatening arms sales to Israel unless more humanitarian aid reaches Gaza in 30 days.

Palestinians. In. Gaza. Cannot. Wait. Another. 30. Days.

Tell the White House to impose an arms embargo on Israel TODAY.

This is how Sec. of State Antony Blinken and Sec. of Defense Lloyd Austin, the authors of the letter, talk about Gaza:

They describe the humanitarian situation as “dire.”

They estimate that assistance to Gaza has shrunk by more than half since the Israeli government promised in March to allow in more aid.

They openly state fears that “actions by the Israeli government... are contributing to an accelerated deterioration in the conditions in Gaza.”

We already knew this, but the letter confirms it again:

Biden officials acknowledge how unthinkable the situation in Gaza has become.

But they still refuse to do anything about it. It’s unacceptable.

We need an arms embargo on Israel now.

The Biden administration is fully aware that Israel has been violating U.S. laws and international humanitarian law for months but no action has been taken.

There is little hope for a lasting ceasefire in Gaza while the U.S. continues to arm Israel with bombs killing Palestinian children and families every single day in direct violation of U.S. and international law.

Tell the Biden administration: We need an arms embargo on Israel NOW.

Thank you for everything you do.

In solidarity,

Yasmine, Linda, and the MPower Action team
