Dear Khani,

As we approach the one-year mark since October 7th and the war on Gaza, we invite you to join us for a time of reflection and action. From October 6th to 8th, we will host virtual gatherings each day at 2:00 PM ET / 9:00 PM Jerusalem Time. These sessions will honor those we've lost and envision a future rooted in justice, peace, and safety for all.

The gatherings will be facilitated by Nonviolence International, Parents Circle Families Forum/American Friends of Parents Circle Families Forum, and Combatants for Peace/American Friends of Combatants for Peace. We are deeply honored that our partners Win Without War and Sisterhood of Salaam Shalom will be joining us with their communities as well.

Our first gathering will be this Sunday, October 6th at 2pm ET / 9pm Jerusalem. Please note that you only need to register once to participate in all three gatherings from October 6th to 8th.

Our gathering on Sunday will be led by Nonviolence International, and we’re honored to have a remarkable group of facilitators, with nonviolent activist Sami Awad moderating the discussion.

Amira Hass, an esteemed author and Israeli journalist for Haaretz, will share her insights from decades of reporting on the human impact of conflict, drawing from her experiences living in both Gaza and the West Bank. Joining her is Rawan Roshni, a talented Palestinian/Balkan activist and artist based in Jordan. Through her music and workshops, Rawan champions empowerment and healing in the SWANA region, focusing on conflict transformation and community building.

We’ll also hear from Ahmed Alnaouq, a Gazan journalist and co-founder of We Are Not Numbers. With a Master’s degree in international journalism, Ahmed has also co-founded Border Gone, a media project dedicated to sharing Gaza’s stories in Hebrew. Together, they will guide us through meaningful discussions that inspire reflection and collective action.

From October 6-8th, we also encourage you to organize local gatherings in your community, such as vigils or peace walks, and to wear a black ribbon or armband with the words, "Every Life, a Universe," to foster a collective consciousness of grief. Please bring a candle to light during each gathering.

We hope to see you online soon for Every Life, A Universe: Global Days of Remembrance and Action.
