The Arab America Foundation is excited to announce that Dearborn Mayor Abdullah Hammoud will speak at the CONNECT Arab America: Empowerment Summit, which will be held on Friday, October 25, and Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the Dearborn Community and Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Avenue, Dearborn, Michigan 48126--October 27 is optional. Mayor Abdullah H. Hammoud has passionately advocated for his hometown of Dearborn for over a decade. Born and raised in Dearborn to working-class immigrant parents, Hammoud is the city’s seventh mayor and is dedicated to ensuring that all residents have the opportunity to thrive.
A product of Dearborn Public Schools, he holds master’s degrees in business administration and public health and a bachelor’s degree in science from the University of Michigan. Before becoming mayor, Hammoud served as Dearborn’s State Representative in the Michigan House, where he championed initiatives to protect air quality, enhance public health, and improve education and economic development.
Since being elected mayor in November 2021, he has made historic investments in public parks, prioritized public health, advanced economic development, and innovated government services. Beyond his role as mayor, Hammoud is a devoted husband and father, committed to raising his family in the community he serves.
This year’s summit is a unique opportunity to connect with a diverse community of like-minded individuals, visionary leaders, and influential speakers. We’ve chosen Dearborn as the location of our summit—a city that symbolizes the heart of Arab America.
