Friends, overnight -- literally -- things are moving in a dark direction. My point in writing is to advocate that we continue to shift gears in our demonstrations and messaging to "US Out of Middle East" and "No US 'Defense' of Israel!" And, of course, cleverer ways of stating that theme.
Also, we're going to have to follow the AMP lead and get out on the streets, likely quite soon, because Israel's new war front is rapidly expanding.
> Israel claims to have bombed 400 targets in Lebanon yesterday, which is carpet bombing and a tactic used just ahead of a land invasion.
> Last night there were reports of a massive explosion in south Lebanon, observers say it was either a nuclear weapon or a non-nuclear, 5000 pound bunker buster bomb. Israel has at least 100 of each. The non-nuclear bunker buster is 2.5 times the size of the worst bomb used on Gaza and can blast through 7 yards of reinforced concrete and leave a 160 foot deep crater.
> Hezbollah is believed to have developed extensive tunnels in southern Lebanon along the border where they have rockets, drones and weapons stored, which is why it is likely Israel will use these horrifically more destructive weapons.
> Here's the suspected nuclear explosion from overnight.
> There are one or more Israeli army divisions, possibly 20,000 to 50,000 troops, with tanks and artillery, grouping at the Lebanon border. The Israelis say this is merely to drive back Hezbollah to the Litani River, 12 miles north of the Israel-Lebanon border. But the Litani River is a major water resource long coveted (as is everything else) by Israel. An IDF invasion will undoubtedly seek to conquer that 12 mile stretch from the border to the Litani in order for Israel to control the water and destroy the economy of central Lebanon and ultimately, the entire country. The ruling cabal in Israel is dominated by right wing conquerors who insist that "greater Israel" was given them by God and that they're merely taking over what is rightfully theirs. Backed up by many American Christian fundamentalists.
> Weapons and strategy expert Scott Ritter believes the escalation of warfighting in Ukraine right now may be aimed to keep Russia occupied in Europe so that they cannot become a major player on the side of Iran.
> The Israelis are clearly pursuing a plan to invade Lebanon, use extremely larger bombs and capture territory. This will provoke Iran and the Israelis are keen to suck the US in to "defend" Israel.
> Kamala is in the middle of a bitter election campaign and it appears a sure bet that, while Joe Biden will whine and moan about Israel's genocidal choices, the US War Machine will be tasked with stopping Iran.
