Hi all,
Many of you know Larry Clark, a pastor here in town with a strong history of supporting social justice causes. Larry is going to Palestine with other faith leaders to call for a ceasefire, and could use some help covering the costs. Here is the situation, in his own words:
"I will be part of a ecumenical delegation of eight people who are going to Palestine to support the efforts for a ceasefire and standing with Palestinians in the West Bank who are under attack by Settlers. The plan is to stay in villages that are vulnerable, to pray at the Gaza border, to meet with families of hostages and perhaps consider a civil disobedience action. We are being hosted by Sabeel Ecumenical Liberation Theology Center in Palestine. I expect that it will cost $3,000 or perhaps a little more. "
Toledo Area Jobs with Justice (and some of its members) have collectively donated $1500 toward this effort, leaving us with $1500 more to raise. If at all possible, please consider sending checks made out to Larry Clark at 2543 Broadway Street Toledo, OH 43609.
Note that we are not posting this publicly or on social media, as doing so could end up creating border difficulties for him while traveling. In light of that, please do not share this information publicly. However, do share this appeal to trustworthy individuals who might be interested in helping Larry get to Palestine.
