Subject: Join us on July 17th for our summer film festival
Join us on July 17th as we kick off our CollectiveED summer series film festival, Films for Freedom. Over the summer, we will gather virtually for three conversations on three films related to Palestine and Israel. For each film, we will provide a link to screen the film on your own, in advance, for free. During the follow-up virtual events, dive deeper through live conversations with the directors and casts. Dear Susan, Join us on July 17th as we kick off our CollectiveED summer series film festival, Films for Freedom. Over the summer, we will gather virtually for three conversations on three films related to Palestine and Israel. For each film, we will provide a link to screen the film on your own, in advance, for free. During the follow-up virtual events, dive deeper through live conversations with the directors and casts. Our first film is Israelism. The live virtual event is July 17th at 1pm ET. |
Films for Freedom: Israelism Wednesday, July 17 1pm ET / 8pm Jerusalem |
If you are unable to attend, please register to receive the recording. Israelism follows two young American Jews - Simone Zimmerman and Eitan - who are raised to defend the state of Israel at all costs. Eitan joins the Israeli military. Simone supports Israel on "the other battlefield:" America’s college campuses. When they witness Israel’s mistreatment of the Palestinian people with their own eyes, they are horrified and heartbroken. Watch as they join the movement of young American Jews battling the old guard over Israel’s centrality in American Judaism, and demanding freedom for the Palestinian people.
On July 17th, hear from Jewish filmmaker and director, Erin Axelman, as well as Israelism cast members and activists, Simone Zimmerman and Sami Awad. Our conversation will be moderated by Israelism producer and AFCFP board member, Gili Getz. Invite a friend to watch the film. We hope to see you online soon.
