Dear Khani,

Ten days ago, I took to the stage at the Ridenhour Prizes event in Washington DC, an annual ceremony honoring the achievements of whistleblowers, truth-tellers and visionaries. We were invited – as journalists, filmmakers and previous recipients of the Ridenhour Film Prize for Budrus in 2011 – to offer a tribute to the Palestinian journalists who have been killed by the Israeli Army in Gaza.

Please watch the short video that we produced and presented at the event so that you, too, can take a moment to honor the work and sacrifice of Gaza's journalists and media workers. If you feel moved, I hope you will share it on your social media channels (click the links for Instagram, Facebook or Twitter).

I am among the journalists who survived the genocide in Gaza. Most of my family, including my parents and siblings, are still there and I fear every day for their safety. The work of the journalists who are bravely continuing to cover what is unfolding in Gaza is my only hope that people around the world will learn the truth, and that by learning the truth, act to stop the massacre of my people.

With determination,
