Netanyahu has ordered IDF to provide a plan for "evacuating" Gazan civilians out of Rafah as the precursor to the largest battle yet in the genocide.
Here's the New York Times coverage, the implications are huge.
1) The Israeli military will not allow the Gazans to flee northward. The only direction to go is south. But if the Gazans flee through the gate at Rafah, into the Egyptian Sinai desert, they will never be allowed to return to Palestine, which has been Israel's policy since 1948 (denial of the right of return).
2) The Israeli military routinely warns the Palestinians that they must evacuate and that if they do not, they will be treated as combatants; that means the Palestinians can (and will) be murdered on sight, without any further warning or justification if they don't leave Rafah. It has happened literally thousands of times since October.
3) Egypt refuses to let the Palestinians escape Gaza into the Sinai. It sure seems like the Israelis will bomb and destroy the gate and commence a widespread military attack on the Palestinian civilians to drive them out of Palestine on pain of death.
4) Notice in the article that the Biden administration states it cannot "approve" the plan the Israelis have to evacuate Gaza. That is ass-covering. The U.S. is the ONLY country with the political power to stop the genocide and has no intention of stopping the coming astonishing massacre. The Israelis know that they can perform this mass murder event without any serious obstacles from Europe and the US, or Canada.
5) It's been 2 weeks since 12 major donors to the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) cut off their funding. Israel has provided NO PROOF that any UNRWA employees were working with Hamas. Israel has hated UNRWA for decades and many of its leaders have sworn to destroy it. Once the Palestinians are swept into the Sinai, there will be greatly reduced resources to help them and UNRWA in particular will be gravely crippled from performing life saving functions.
6) Once the massacre begins, it becomes likely that every US base in the MIddle East will be surrounded and attacked. There are over 45,000 US troops in harm's way. It is seems likely that Hezbollah will shower Israel with the most open-ended missile attacks Israel has ever experienced. Hezbollah has thousands of state of the art "smart" rockets and missiles. Northern Israel will see unprecedented damage and loss of civilian life.
7) If Israel falls under a major Hezbollah attack, its Iron Dome missile defense system is likely to be overwhelmed and collapse, leaving much of Israel vulnerable to missile attacks.
8) Israel has The Bomb -- 90 or more of them, actually -- and clinically insane and collectively unstable right wingers in government and the IDF view current events as a Biblical chance at triumph. I'm guessing many of them have little contact with reality and if they become panicked, they will pressure the IDF to use nuclear weapons. Israel has state-of-the-art means of launching nuclear missiles that can reach Moscow and Pakistan.
9) No other country in the region has The Bomb and the Israeli military has demonstrated for decades an extraordinary callousness toward the prospect of murdering thousands in the cause of their theocracy.
10) The Biden administration has commodified genocide; it is raking in a great deal of campaign donations from Zionist millionaires and billionaires. Biden administration enabling of the genocide is going to destroy our politics and possibly many American lives in the region. The US is rapidly isolating itself as a thoroughly untrustworthy partner in any endeavor.
11) There will be a wide-ranging regional war with spectacular, perhaps completely unprecedented death catastrophes, and scary potential for the involvement of Russia and China. The poison from Tel Aviv is spreading everywhere.
