Some remarkable investigative work. They produced a video that seems to prove that the supposedly errant Hamas rocket was destroyed by Israel's Iron Dome system, and then, a few seconds later, the large explosion occurred at the hospital.

   The article that accompanies the video further explains that since there is only a small crater, and given the light damage done to the surrounding buildings, a strong possible explanation is that the Israelis were using an air-burst artillery shell. The actual hospital wasn't hit; the explosion occurred amid several buildings on the hospital campus, where uninjured people -- refugees from northern Gaza, likely -- were sleeping outside. There are 400,000 or more homeless refugees in Gaza and many of them have taken to camping in or around hospitals and schools, which are supposedly off limits to Israeli attacks. Since the Israelis have undisputed control of the skies over Gaza, they're constantly targeting with very specific weapons. An airburst shell would kill a great deal of unprotected humanity while doing very little damage to surrounding structures.
