Some are joining the protest because Trump’s bombing of a top Iranian official in Iraq has aroused fears of a wider, even nuclear, conflict in the Middle East and beyond. Others concerned about refugee detentions, racism and the worsening climate crisis will be downtown to urge the U.S. Senate to convict Trump and finish the impeachment process begun in the House.
Toledo attorney, Terry Lodge, said, “The threat of an expanded, even nuclear, war in the Middle East grows more real by the hour. The consequences for people under the bombs and for our very planet will be nothing short of catastrophic. If democracy and life on our planet still mean anything to Americans, now is the time to take to the streets.”
