Please join us in protest against Trump's latest decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and his plan to move the US embassy to Jerusalem.
This move is a blatant violation of international law. Jerusalem is holy to Muslims, Christians and Jews. The International community and the UN consider Jerusalem as occupied territories and agree that the status of Jerusalem should be determined through negotiation.
By recognizing Israel sovereignty over Jerusalem, the Trump administration is giving the apartheid Israeli regime the green light to accelerate its ongoing illegal actions of displacing and disenfranchising christian and muslim native inhabitants of Jerusalem, revoking their residency and demolishing their homes. This move will embolden the extremist right wing government in Israel to intensify expansion of settlements and annexation of Jerusalem.
Trump's decision destroys any prospect for peace and deprives Palestinians of any hope. It incites violence, hurts US interests at home and abroad, inflames anti US sentiment across the world and destroys the already little US credibility internationally.
Northwest Ohio Peace Coalition strongly opposes President's Trump decision and acknowledges that this decision is a further proof of the fact that the US has never been and will never be an honest broker for peace in the Middle East.
