demonstration to bring Ohio State troopers back home from North Dakota

The Northwest Ohio Peace Coalition is calling on the community to come out for a peaceful protest in solidarity with the Standing Rock Sioux tribe of North Dakota, on Thursday Nov 3, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Ohio State Highway Patrol at 10391 Airport Hwy, Swanton, OH .
We will hold a demonstration at the Ohio State Highway Patrol to protest the decision of the state of Ohio to send 37 Ohio state troopers to Standing Rock and demand that the state bring them back home NOW. We need to send a strong message that Ohio tax payers don't want 37 of their highway patrol officers to be involved in this unethical and unconstitutional violation of Native American people's right to protect their water and their sacred burial lands.
The images of militarized police attacking unarmed native Americans protecting their water and their lands is appalling and we Ohioans are against any abuse of human rights in order to protect a pipeline that threatens the water supply of tribal nations in North Dakota and millions of people downstream.
The NDAPL was originally routed near Bismarck, ND, but was changed after residents of Bismarck opposed the pipeline coming near their homes and water supply. The pipeline was re-routed from mostly white Bismarck to native lands. The pipeline would travel underneath the Missouri River, the primary drinking water for the Standing Rock Sioux, which posses a risk of damaging the water supply in case of a leak ( which is a matter of when not if ). The Standing Rock Sioux also argues that the pipeline traverses a sacred burial ground.
