Dear Friends,
This morning I got a call from Sandy Craig, Steve Miller's landlord and next-door neighbor, that Steve was found dead in his apartment earlier today.  Sandy talked with the police who estimated he died some time over the weekend.
Steve's brother, Mike, who lives in Michigan, has been informed.  Other than that I don't know of any family members except for those of us in his large, extended family in the movement.
Sandy will contact Steve's brother to see if he wants to go through his personal effects.  Sandy and Susan will be cleaning out the apartment at some point after that.
As we know, Steve didn't care much for material possessions but he did leave quite a library of books and mementos that will need to be taken care of.
If any of you would like to help with those details and to plan a memorial for him, let me know.

Don't wait to tell someone you love them.

Why else would we allow our country to be destroyed?  Why else would we be rewarding its destroyers?...Most of us are still too sane to piss in our own cistern, but we allow others to do so and we reward them for it.  We reward them so well, in fact, that those who piss in our cistern are wealthier than the rest of us.  How do we submit?  By not being radical enough.  Or by not being thorough enough, which is the same thing.”  --Wendell Berry
