Earth Day
Hi all,
A few additional notes about Wednesday's event.
Josie asked about parking...I'm glad she's not "parting" from us just yet!!! Best way is to enter campus from the main entrance on Bancroft at the light just east of the planetarium.  Continue down that street past one stop sign (parking garage on left), and as the street curves to the right you'll come to a second stop sign. Turn left there, where you'll immediately cross the river. Just across the bridge there will be two parking options:  a large lot to the right facing the stadium entrance, and a smaller to the left facing Savage hall in the distance.  There should be room in either at that hour.  The Health Ed Bldg is a mere 100 yds or so down the street on the left.  A ROTC sign is on the west side of the bldg. facing the stadium.

I purchased a redbud tree which I took over to the interfaith center on Sat. Steve and I spoke with the minister on Friday, noted the spot for the planting, and walked the route to ROTC (but didn't sign up!!).  Shovels, hose for watering, mulch and topsoil mix are on site. I plan to get these to the planting spot before marchers arrive.  Almost forgot--Steve recommends that we dig the hole as part of the event.  I think this is do-able, but we'll need some strong backs--the root ball is very heavy, but only about 2 ft. in diameter. The hole should be twice as wide and the same depth as the ball.
Enough for now.

Take care,
-- Tom McD.
