I'd like to suggest doing Terry's speech at ROTC and then having a shorter speech at the tree-planting that highlights the symbolic gesture of planting a tree as reparation for the many trees that have been destroyed by war and the many trees that will be destroyed as militarization accelerates global warming.  Destruction of...

I'd like to bring a sign used by a Carey woman at Tiffin vigils:  "Seeds and Trees, Not Bullets and Bombs"

What other student groups might be contacted?  UT SJP?

This sounds like a great plan!  Denny and I will be there.  I'll spread the word.

It looks like this is what will be happening on April 22:
 
    Meet at the ROTC building on UT campus at 5:30 PM.
 
    Terry Lodge will speak on the issue of the Pentagon's destruction of Mother Earth.
 
    We will march to the Campus Ministry house behind Shorlings.    
 
     We will plant a tree. Or should Terry speak at the planting?
 
We need to get the message out regarding this event: NWOPC Web Site, Face book Page, etc.
 
We all need to make signs for the march. Here are some ideas. Does anyone have any others?
 
        The Pentagon devours 330,000 barrels of oil each day.
 
        The Pentagon still uses depleted uranium.
 
        The U.S. is upgrading nuclear weapons costing trillions of dollars.
 
        The Pentagon is raping Mother Earth.
 
        The U.S. still produces nuclear weapon waste.
 
        Drones kill trees too.
 
Please chime in on the above ideas. Nothing is cut in stone yet.
