Hello Susan and Terry, 

The World Affairs Council of northwest Ohio has received a grant to bring George Beebe, Director at the Quincy Institute to Toledo on Sept. 4, 2025. The vision of the Quincy Institute is a world where peace is the norm and war is the exception. The title of his talk is "Europe at a Crossroads: Why Diplomacy Can't Wait." He is specifically addressing the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the involvement of the U.S., the E.U. and NATO. I thought this topic would be of interest to you.

Mr. Beebe will be speaking at 6:00 p.m. in the Law Center auditorium at the University of Toledo, 1825 W. Rocket Dr. The event is free and parking is free. See attached flyer.

There will be a social hour at 5:00 p.m. for community networking -- we are hoping that the Northwest Ohio Peace Coalition is able to join us for this event. Please feel free to bring any handouts, display, or e-mail sign-up sheet. I am putting together a slideshow of upcoming events that will loop on the screen while people are gathering in the auditorium. Is there any upcoming event the Northwest Ohio Peace Coalition would like to be included in the slideshow? At a minimum, I would like to include the NOPC logo. Other organizations being invited to participate include Veterans for Peace, Pax Christi Toledo, Toledo Helps Ukraine, MultiFaith Council of northwest Ohio, and Welcome TLC.
