! COME AND WITNESS AN EXTRAORDINARY PERFORMANCE ON SEPT 3rd !
From the heart of Palestine, Elbireh/Ramallah and Beit Jala/Bethlehem and in remembrance of Gaza and all of Palestine, From Rubble We Dance comes to Toledo. This evening is being dedicated to Waseela Mansour, longtime Toledean who passed away this January. A Palestinian refugee herself, she devoted her life to children around the world and had a special place in her heart for those in the refugee camps of Palestine.
Featuring two renowned acclaimed dance troops, Wishah Popular Dance Troupe and Baladi Dance Troupe along with the acclaimed singer,Abdulhalim Abu Haltam, this evening shines a light too often hidden. For many in our community, the images of Palestinians in recent years have been those of bodies broken, families displaced, and lives reduced to survival images that strip away the fullness of who they are; doctors, mothers, authors, professors, scientists, children and dreamers. This performance offers an unforgettable evening of dance, song, and cultural expression: the voices of a people under siege.
