In this week’s DAG webinar, we will highlight our urgent press release on the unfolding forced famine in Gaza, where civilians are now surviving on nothing but salt and water. Medical teams at Al-Nasser Hospital report a surge in patients with severe malnutrition, organ failure, and death due to starvation. We’ll discuss the press release’s call to action for global medical professionals to share life-saving knowledge, demand unfettered humanitarian access, and confront the weaponization of food as a tool of genocide.
Disability Justice
We are joined today by members of Disability Divest, a collective of disabled organizers advocating for a free Palestine and calling on U.S. disability organizations to end their ties to war profiteers and their silence in the face of genocide.
Speakers include C Heis, an organizer with experience in disability justice and Palestinian liberation, and Sarah Blahovec, a long-time disability advocate focused on civic engagement and international human rights.
They will discuss the urgent need for the disability rights community to uphold its values by ending complicity in war and colonial violence.
As always, we will hear from our medical colleagues on the ground in Gaza, who will speak to the relentless violent fatal attacks on healthcare workers, the collapse of the medical system, and the urgent need for international action.
Disability is not invisible in a genocide. And silence from the U.S. disability establishment is complicity.
