Speaker to address getting money out of politics
Getting corporate money out of politics will be the topic when Greg Coleridge, National Co-director of Move to Amend, speaks at Birchard Public Library in Fremont on March 26th at 6:00 pm. His presentation is sponsored by People for Peace and Justice Sandusky County (PPJ).
According to Coleridge, a record $20 billion flooded into the 2024 presidential campaign, from all sides. “A major portion of it comes from billionaires and corporations,” Coleridge says. “Proposed corporate regulatory cuts, billionaire tax cuts and cuts to federal programs relied on by middle and lower-income people are simply the predictable results of a rigged political system.”
Coleridge’s movement, Move to Amend, seeks to enact an amendment to the US Constitution, called the We the People Amendment, to address these problems.
PPJ president David Johnson further notes that a record $540 million was spent on Ohio’s 2024 senate election. The contest was the most expensive non-presidential race in history.
Come to learn what you can do to help get the money out of politics and put the power back in the hands of the people where it belongs.
Doors open at 5:30pm for light refreshments and the presentation will begin at 6:00pm. The event is free and open to the public.
PPJ is a group bringing together Fremont area residents to work together for peace, social justice, and a healthy environment.
