They are desperately trying to erase us from the streets and from the media.

Dear Khani,

Do you see the horrifying death marches happening right now in northern Gaza?

Men, women, and children, some blindfolded, some in wheelchairs, lined up to be detained, tortured, and murdered. They look eerily familiar to me — they look like the death marches that happened during the Armenian genocide just a little over a century ago. It’s gut-wrenching seeing the same genocidal scenes our Armenian brothers and sisters endured with the same goal: erase a people.

“The whole world is blind to what we’re going through, Nour.”
—Mohammed, Jabalia, Northern Gaza

I need to be honest with you. Sometimes I feel hopeless. Sometimes I sit down to write to you, and it’s hard to find the right words to convey the immense suffering of the people of Gaza while still honoring their resilience and dignity. But my people don’t have the luxury of giving up — they have no choice but to persist. And so, we must cradle them in their struggle. I received the message above from my friend trapped in northern Gaza — is he right? I don’t believe so, but how could he feel anything else when he’s spent over a year escaping death? I write to you, in part, to prove him wrong. To make sure you know his name, his story, and his struggle. Talking about the people of Gaza is the smallest action we can take, yet it carries immense power. It’s how Palestinians have kept their fight for dignity and freedom alive against all odds.

From small actions to larger commitments, there’s always a way to get involved in the movement for Palestinian liberation.

If you’re looking to take action remotely:

  1. Sign our petition demanding Netflix reinstate the Palestinian films they deleted from their site! On October 13th and October 14th, Netflix deleted over half its Palestinian film catalog — literally erasing Palestinians’ stories and perspectives from popular culture.
  2. Send a letter to these key Senators demanding they support the resolution to block weapons to Israel. You can do this action every day!

If you can take action in person:

  1. Sign the petition to tell Trader Joe’s to stop selling Israeli products! Then, follow this action guide and take your demand to a local Trader Joe’s store. Share our video and encourage your friends to join in on the action!
  2. Trick or Treat for UNRWA this Halloween! Follow our step-by-step guide to make a tangible difference in the lives of Palestinian children, and teach valuable lessons of empathy and personal responsibility to your children.
