In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: “The likeness of myself and the Prophets (who came before me) is that of a man who built a structure and built it well and he made it beautiful, and the people started walking around it and saying: ‘We have never seen any structure more beautiful than this, except for this brick.’ I am that brick.” Sahih Muslim

CAIR Calls on Biden Admin to Renounce Israel's Reported Plan to Use U.S. Mercenaries for Gaza Internment Camps, Aid Control

According to the Israeli media outlet Yedioth Ahronoth, the Israeli government is expected to approve a plan to establish those camps in Gaza, operated by mercenaries from a private security firm run by former U.S. and Israeli intelligence officials and special forces commanders.

American journalist Dan Cohen reports that “the Biden administration has approved the deployment of 1,000 CIA-trained private mercenaries as part of a joint US-Israeli plan to turn Gaza’s apocalyptic rubble scape into a high-tech dystopia.”

The reported use of American personal in these camps comes after Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu rejected a U.S. request to publicly repudiated the so-called “General’s Plan” in which every human being left in northern Gaza would be either starved or killed.

Israel has already slaughtered almost 43,000 people in Gaza, mostly women and children, and has destroyed most of the civilian infrastructure and forcibly displaced almost all of the civilian population, and imposed forced starvation.

In a statement, CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad said:

“The Biden administration has a duty to the American people to explain whether it's true that it has approved the unacceptable idea of American mercenaries taking control of aid distribution in Gaza and establishing mass, walled-off internment camps for surviving Palestinians. This disturbing report – if true - would only serve to further implicate the Biden administration in the Israeli government’s ethnic cleansing and genocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza. The Biden administration must renounce and condemn any plan like this and ensure that no Americans can participate in it.”

In a statement, CAIR said:

“The Israeli government has brazenly murdered countless journalists in Gaza and now it is setting the stage to kill some of Gaza's few surviving reporters.  Before it's too late, President Biden, Vice President Harris, and members of Congress must vocally demand that Netanyahu's genocidal government leave these journalists alone, permit full media access to Gaza, and stop its war crimes.”

Elmajzoub’s attorney, Justin Sadowsky of CAIR, says the judge’s order applied only to his client’s security group at the Lovelock prison. “I don’t know if this is happening in other facilities in Nevada, but certainly in Lovelock, there are other Muslims who are in different security groupings, and we know that they have been complaining and reaching out, and I think they have very much the same legal rights as Said.”

Some civil rights advocates have raised concerns about potential discrimination in the process. The Council on American-Islamic Relations has told the water district that Hagekhalil has been “subjected to discriminatory and racist actions and behaviors” by some board members.

Hagekhalil is the first Muslim Arab American general manager in the district’s history. He grew up in Lebanon with his Palestinian family before immigrating to the United States in 1984.

“We are concerned about the potential discriminatory, anti-Arab, and Islamophobia sentiment coloring his placement on leave and the current investigation,” Amr Shabaik, the council’s legal director in Los Angeles, said in a letter to the MWD board last week.

“We are aware that Board members have used derogatory terms against immigrants, Muslims, and Arabs. Such alleged statements include the following: ‘When are we going to get rid of those refugees?’ ‘When are we going to hire someone that we can pronounce their last name,’ and calling Muslims and Arab Americans ‘Camel Jockeys,’” Shabaik wrote.

“We ask that the potential discrimination and harassment against Mr. Hagekhalil be addressed and remedied,” he said.
