We would be screaming about this if it happened in another country. Let's use our imaginations. And concerning Wayne State's use of the chemical weapon called tear gas to rouse protesters from tents, we should remember it is not harmless. Wikipedia cites research that reports the following:  Exposure to tear gas agents may produce numerous short-term and long-term health effects, including development of respiratory illnesses, severe eye injuries and diseases (such as traumatic optic neuropathy, keratitis, glaucoma, and cataracts), dermatitis, damage of cardiovascular and gastrointestinal systems, and death, especially in cases with exposure to high concentrations of tear gas or application of the tear gases in enclosed spaces.

In my five years at WSU there was never an off-campus meeting. WSU is raising the prospect of only holding on-line classes this summer, clearly an inferior mode of education. All to suppress student organizing and student voices on the war question. The faculty and staff are outraged that brutal police-state tactics are being arrogantly employed at WSU.
