The US base struck by drone bombing is in SYRIA

My curiosity was piqued this afternoon when the official New York Times propaganda article on the drone attack that killed 3 US troops was said by the Pentagon to have hit Tower 22, an outpost base supposedly in Jordan.

Looks like the Jordanese have outed the US military. They say Tower 22 is in Syria, and I bet the 'Gon lied because it's illegal for the base to be in Syria, with whom the US is at (undeclared) war, and was a semi-secret.  It is illegal for one country to occupy the territory of another without the other country's consent (see Israel/Palestine).

If it's true that the US base is illegally located within Syria's boundaries, then Syria has an unfettered right to take whatever measures it wishes to remove a foreign invader under the laws of war. This could include teaming up with a military from another country (um, Iraq? Er, Russia?) to arrange an attack on the US base.

Ruh roh!

I wonder how many of the know-nothing carpet bomber genocidal hacks in Congress know or care about illegal US military incursions on foreign land. Or if it would make a difference, since international law don't mean a damn thing to 'em.

But mainly, I wonder how much closer this incident is going to take us to the brink. The U.S. is about to launch a retaliatory payback strike against Iran directly, or one of its supposed vassal movements -- retaliating for an attack on a US base illegally occupying Syria.
