Hi Sue,
Copying in my Ohio NLG email account.
We could use more well-vetted individuals for jail support calls and data entry. We need to staff the office in shifts throughout the day.
The jail support training would likely be scheduled around mid-June so it’s not too far away from the convention. It would be in person and in Cleveland. Would that be a problem?
You should feel free to e-greet me to others who are interested in volunteering. Thank you!
Jocelyn

Wonderful! Thanks so much, Sue. Mike Uth is likely also going to be trained in this capacity. I have a meeting this weekend to discuss jail support outreach and the training with some other organizers.
We’ll likely send out a survey monkey to schedule the training on a day/ time that works for the most people. I’ll loop back around after the meeting. We really appreciate the support!

Yes, I'm very interested. Tell me the dates I'll be needed and I'll clear my schedule. I have a niece that lives in Medina so i can stay there. I know rooms are hard to find. When is the training? This work sounds like what i do all day. Answer the phone and talk to people in trouble. looking forward to it. Sue

Hi Sue,
Apologies for my own delay. I was out of the country for a quick vacation.
Do you already have plans/ dates you’ll be in town? I think one area where we need good, trust-worthy individuals is to help the Ohio NLG with jail support. Basically, we need people who could work in an office and answer phone calls from arrestees and/ or input sensitive information into a database on a computer. This is either a very busy job (when there are a lot of arrests) or it’s a lot of sitting around if nothing is happening. We’re hoping to have people work in varying shifts throughout the day.
Would this be of interest? If so, there is a 2 hour training so you could be comfortable with the informational forms/ etc.
Thank you!
Jocelyn
