I'm not the spokesperson for Toledo's Syrian Refugee vigil on Sunday, although I'll be there.
I didn't think this was something that a city official should opine about, but I heard from a friend of mine that some official of Pontiac, MI said they weren't taking any Syrian refugees. What fearful, xenophobic, cheap crap!
In that case, the mayor of Toledo should stand up and say that every Syrian refugee who will fit in Toledo is welcome.
Our tax money paid to invade Iraq, kill a million people and destabilize the region until we have what we have today. The very least we can do is say what every person I met in Iraq said to me, "Welcome!"
