Dear Mike and everyone,

Thanks for sharing Tom Henry's words.  Here is the passage that most captures my own reaction to Steve's death:

With kindness, affection, and respect, I submit there's a little part of all of us that dies when guys like Steve Miller leave us.

Even though I only saw Steve maybe a couple times a year, he had such a profound effect on me.  And I was surprised to find my emotions stirred so deeply by his loss. I woke up in the middle of the night after I heard the news, and all I could think was "Great Soul, Great Soul."  I am so sorry I will be out of town and not able to attend his memorial service.  It would have meant a great deal to be there and connect again with Steve's humble and moving spirit.  I hope that copies or videos of the eulogies will be circulated afterwards.  My heart goes out to all of you who spent so many Sunday afternoons and much more with Steve.
